Dr. Heller's Bio
Tania Heller, M.D., F.A.A.P. is a board-certified physician, author, and independent medical school admissions consultant. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, completed her pediatric residency at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. and practiced medicine in the Washington Metropolitan area for over 30 years, most recently as the Medical Director of the Washington Center for Eating Disorders and Adolescent Obesity.
Dr. Heller hosted an educational pediatric radio program, and is an author of six books, including On Becoming a Doctor, published by Sourcebooks and You and Your Doctor, published by McFarland. She has been a regular Speaker at schools, medical institutions, and conferences, as well as a Keynote Speaker at leadership events. She also has experience as a medical school applicant interviewer.
Dr. Heller is on the honorary staff of Suburban Hospital/Johns Hopkins Health and is a clinical assistant professor at Georgetown University Hospital in the School of Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) where she has also served on the Graduate School Committee. She has served as a resource to both television and print media, including U.S. News & World Report, and News Channel 4 in the Washington D.C. area.
In addition, she is the host of the podcast "Med Career Matters" in which she interviews physicians in a variety of medical fields about their pathway to medicine and their medical career.
